Re: bring da beats
Thu, June 5, 2008 - 8:52 PMThe firejam is over, but the beatz are not. In fact, they're still hot. I liked the firedancers, but
we drummers are still having a good time! A couple of local heroes still firedance.
Eventually, the "normal" firedancers will get permitted up. But hey, in my crew, it's the beatz
that count. I like it when people dance, period. -

Sat, June 7, 2008 - 12:08 PMWait, what? No spinners any longer? Those damned drum fiends need to stay there though!

Re: bring da beats
Sat, June 21, 2008 - 10:44 AMSo is there drumming at the waterfront on Sundays? If so when? Where? I drummed for the first time at Beltane and fell in love. I would love to find a local place to hear, and learn. -

Re: bring da beats
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 5:16 PMEven though the firespinning has (temporarily) stopped. We have still kept up drumming.
In some ways, it's even more enjoyable now. I like to see people dancing or spinning the
lighted orbs. They look just as cool, or cooler, than the fire orbs, with less smoke.
I have a great time every week. I love the people who show up. We are a noisy little family.

Re: bring da beats
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 5:25 PMLocation: On the dead-end of SE Salmonella St, where it dies at the banks of the Willamette, on Sundays at sundown, about 150 yards north of the Hawthorne bridge, on the East side, near the approving countenance of the Vera Katz statue (she seems to dig drumming, but is not big on dancing)..
